Hi All, My WatchProSite handle “cbb in honor of Chamnong Bhirombhakdi” represents my love for my late father and all that is dear to him. Naturally, this handle also honors his wife and my mother who passed away exactly a year ago today. So I would like to make this post in her honor today, 23rd December 2020
My father’s passion for horology passed on to my mother and their next generations in different ways. Even though my mother’s love for horology passion was not as strong as my dad’s, she was very supportive of him spending an enormous amount of time and money on his collection. I really admire her for being so accommodating of my father’s addiction ! 😊
For her, family also came first no matter what. Harmony was maintained in our and our extended family due to her kindness, love and patience. She was a great driving force for my father in almost every way.
In preparing for this post, I went through the photos to find this first one which defines her kindness, beauty and horological passion. The watch on her wrist is reference 4899/900G. When I saw the watch at VIP dinner in early April of 2017, I knew it would fit her perfectly. The diamonds, the pink Mother of Pearl perfectly compliment her elegance. So with the kind help of Mr. Butland at London Patek Philippe Salon, we managed to get the piece in time to surprised her on her 87th Birthday.

Hopefully with my sorrow passing after this Christmas I will take up our moderator GLau’s suggestion for me to be interviewed by him about my family’s horological journey and collection. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy and continue our passion for watches.

This is definitely a time for remembrance and reflection of our families and those that supported our dreams and visions. I, myself, am also lucky to have the means to purchase some Patek references and wish future generations will appreciate those as you have of your father’s collection. Of course my collection is not as extensive...haha. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
