Today's choice simple 5960 P

That strap is way more expensive than the watch 😀

I wrote it hundreds times... One of my favorite modern Patek. Superb with this slate grey dial. [nt]

PP and affordable, an oxymoron for some of us, for me anyway. Nice watch however. [nt]

"Affordable" is a relative term, my friend!

 By: NickO : February 11th, 2019-09:29
There are about 7.4 Billion people on the planet with a median per-capita income of around $3,000 USD (Gallup analytics). The retail price on that Patek is approximately $95K USD which represents over 30 years gross income for the average citizen of the world.

I understand what you meant, but I think it's always good to remember the context in which we operate and how fortunate the vast majority of us here are with our first-world issues and perspectives.

Lovely Patek, BTW!

+1 Nick. Well said. [nt]

I'm not responsible for any unequal living conditions in the world.....

 By: runie(1) : February 11th, 2019-11:54
.... and be sure, I know I'm privileged to wear a wristwatch...

No one is holding you responsible for anything

 By: NickO : February 11th, 2019-13:32
Perhaps you’ll agree with me that a $95K capital good is not “affordable” to the vast majority of the world’s population?

The point has been made so I will leave it here.

I dare to say that

 By: runie(1) : February 11th, 2019-15:15
The majority of the world's population does not miss a 95k US$ watch.... The majority even cannot afford a big Mac Hamburger meal.
But it is not my mission to change any subjective felt injustice or fight for "social" equality (I wonder what does "social" equality or "social" justice means at all? Is there another kind of justice????). I'll leave this field to fighters of political correctness, do-gooders and "Gutmenschen"...

The 5960P-001 is not an inexpensive watch for sure ...

By: Mean Solar Time : February 11th, 2019-19:12
... but the 2006 introductory price for that first edition ended up being a decent buy when considering the wealth of complications.

+1! [nt]

Did I tell you that this is my current favorite watch? 😊

 By: 1WatchMan : February 11th, 2019-14:41
Btw, never thought of a black strap with red stitching for it. Definitely it's not for me, but I have to reckon that the color combination makes sense. Enjoy it!

Thks for your comments

The charcoal strap with red stitches has been the very first series of 5960 P. Imo it's a very nice combination, I really like it more than the brown strap...

I don’t need to say anything.

My preference is this colour strap on the original 5960P.

Very nice! [nt]
