Finishing on new cal. 324 / ref. 5296 still looks pretty good . . .
I'm always hearing that Patek finishing isn't what it used to be. But the finishing of the cal. 324 in my brand new 5296 appears to be executed quite well--certainly not Dufour-worthy, but unquestionably top tier and no better or worse than what it was decades ago. Or am I missing something? Love to hear some tough scrutiny.
ppl usually complain because the uneven finishing( red arrows) also some on the rotors and the anglage on the edges but it might be the trick of light
obviously for most of us this mvnts are perfect
Absolutely nothing wrong with Patek finishing
Arguably the independents have been increasing the bar when it comes to finishing but for me, it is more important to have an accurate, reliable watch with very good finishing that can be easily serviced and not having to worry about finding a very good watchmaker who can service a watch and not damage a watch from an independent. Patek ticks all the boxes and coupled with the added bonus of their excellent resale value, it is generally the only brand ticks all the boxes for me. Well done on your 5296!
