Remember those Chris Bangle era BMWs, particularly the 7-series and 5 series that looked like space ships? Those 5 series vehicles still look modern on the road, despite being a design that came out in 2004! I remember I found that design strange and bizarre at first. Nowadays I like it. It's aged well.

Bangle is the best thing that happened to BMW design in the modern era. Nothing has since surpassed it in my opinion. I vividly remember the genuine awe I felt when those designs first came out. Cheers, Filip

I like the front of the new 5 series, but the back hasn't won me over yet.
And a car that really starts to sing to me now is the Bangle era BMW 6 series with its generous proportions and long hood. I'm starting to really like that rear end that looks almost like a sail off a sailboat. It almost waves at me every time I pass by one. That was a beautiful car, and there's a yachting quality to it that really implies a cote d'azur lifestyle.
Although they're supposedly a pain to maintain, the V10 M5 that went into the Bangle M5 and M6 are still mighty desirable vehicles in my eyes. Sure, they lack torque and you've really got to rev the engine a bit, but sometimes you're in the mood for that.
Even the E92 3 series coupe was a darn good looking car with great proportions.

nowadays I'll mostly catch myself stealing a second glance of a nicely optioned 6 series Gran Coupe (I like 4 door practicality in a car that big!) And I do like the design of the Z4 quite a bit but the car lacks in the drivetran department to match the looks. Those naturally aspirated V8s and V10s were and still are the best ones, I loved my '08 E90 M3 to bits . Cheers, Filip

This must be the summum (except for RR) of comfort. I always disliked Mercedes for being not sporty enough ... i always liked Mercedes for being the most comfy car

to get unless you desire an ultra-luxury one in which case I think the Mulsanne outdoes the Rollses. Much happiness driving it, I think it looks particularly classy in grey. Cheers, Filip

Do you drive it yourself or are you being driven?  

It’s about fifty fifty: for work our driver is driving the car so I can work (or sleep whichever is applicable) in the back
Which is no punishment with ventilated/ heated seats

But I equally enjoy driving it myself: it’s fast, has remarkable performance and takes corners faster you would expect from such a large car

I really love the semi autonomous driving of the car in congested traffic: all I do is set speed and distance and the car does the rest

Being driven while working and driving it yourself on the weekends. That's probably the best way to use this car.
