Love for titanium

I wonder to what extent titanium contributed to the success of the Octo Finissimo.
The Octo was my first titanium watch and since then, I must say, I often look at watches made in this material.
I used to think the weight of platinum was such a nice feeling,
now I think this beautiful material is only perfect for smaller dress watches.
Since I bought a titanium G-Shock, I haven't worn the steel version anymore.
The wearing comfort makes such a difference to me. Am I exaggerating?
And I'm curious what you think about this.

I have to agree with you on that my friend

A Titanium watch is def one of the most comfortable ones to wear imho. I have watches in all kind of metals but also pref a titanium case

You are right!

I agree that titanium is a great material.

I love my titanium Amvox. In particular I like that it appears to be a bulky and heavy watch but when you pick it up the low weight weight defies the visual appearance.

At the other end of the spectrum I also love my Deepsea. I find the bulk and weight satisfying. For me variety keeps things interesting and having different sizes, weights and materials in the collection adds to the enjoyment.

All the best,

I second this

Fond memories of my titanium IWC 3536. I think that brand deserves the top place when it comes to that material: they have experience the most and for the longest time

nice JLC!

IN fact!  I think I'll wear that watch today!  Thank you for the reminder!

I’m with you.

These days I have three mechanical titanium cased watches, two of which weight approximately 60-65g.  That type of weight, like your Octo, brings something else to the table which for an everyday watch is very appealing. Interestingly for me both of these watches might be on the upper end of case size (actually my 3rd titanium watch is also), but the weight has swung the balance on whether they really work for me or not.

I would also add, in my earlier years of collecting I favored titanium for a different reason, because it didn’t catch the light (or attention) that a stainless steel watch did.  For example, two of my first Panerai in the early 2000’s were Titanium for that very reason.  I had found the steel cased PAM I had initially to be too shiny ! LOL

Those 44mm PAM's in titanium were great looking.
