Which one is your favourite?

 By: 1WatchMan : May 22nd, 2020-13:23
Today, I went out to do some shopping and couldn't resist to pay a quick visit to the Bulgari boutique. I had the opportunity to try on a few Octo Finissimo watches:

Titanium GMT Chrono (42mm):

Titanium Automatic (40mm):

I also tried on the Steel (sandblasted) Automatic, which is very nice, but looks on camera similar to the Titanium one. In person it's of course heavier and the grey a bit lighter.

Ceramic Automatic (40mm):

Which one is your favourite?

Thanks and stay safe!

The super thin auto chrono for me! [nt]

You know what?

 By: 1WatchMan : May 22nd, 2020-15:01
I didn't even asked for it. I almost declined to try it on, as I wasn't interested based on the pictures I had seen. How wrong I was!

There is just something about it... very nice [nt]

From the wrist, she sang to me much louder than the others πŸ˜‰ [nt]

These are watches that need to be seen and touched in person...

Which I haven't been able to do yet.  That said and based purely on photos, I am voting for the titanium chrono...πŸ˜‰

Great choice! But as you said, you have to see them on your wrist. [nt]

I had a chance to see a few last summer when we were in Napoli, and I just love this model...This is probably my favorite (I believe it's a titanium case) in all of its simplicity! ;-)

That does indeed look like the Ti in your photo - you wear it very well! [nt]

Oh, no way! ;-) Are you considering more one of these or the Day Date from the other thread? Cheers. [nt]

Very good question, my friend 😊

 By: 1WatchMan : May 22nd, 2020-23:03
Not easy to answer, as we're comparing apples and oranges.
But I would say that I'm considering more the DD, which I would wear much more, I believe. The Bulgari is a watch that I would wear occasionally.

Personally I’m probably more impressed by this Bulgari, but I agree in terms if wearability/versatility, and both are superb objects!πŸ‘ Keep us postedπŸ˜‰πŸ₯‚ [nt]

I agree, I'm much more impressed by the Bulgari as well

The Rolex would be the "safe purchase" and the Bulgari the "risky" one πŸ˜›

When I bought mine, I went for the sandblasted SS

 By: Modernahab : May 22nd, 2020-14:21
I prefer the livelier finish of the SS to the more muted titanium.

My second choice would probably be the black ceramic. I really like the chrono from the horological perspective, but I don't feel the dial design succeeds as well aesthetically as the simpler, bolder automatic.

I agree with you, the difference is subtle, but I might also prefer the SS to the Ti [nt]

Yeah - I ony wish that the sandblasted SS offered the 10 bar water resistance of the black dial, brushed/polished steel model,

 By: Modernahab : May 22nd, 2020-15:14
which I otherwise (contrary to most,) don't much care for.

Water resistance would be a big plus indeed [nt]

Look and feel

Bang, your right.

I do not know what it is, but most of the first editions i like more than what comes next.

It is most of the time that the second editions have more complications.
The thirds are overkill.

Take for example a Cartier Santos, a simply steel with the white dial is timeless, while a busy skeleton go to bore.

I have to agree with you, most of the times it's like you said

 By: 1WatchMan : May 23rd, 2020-02:02
However, I prefer the ceramic here. I got attracted by the original, but on my wrist the ceramic wins. Difficult to explain with words.
