Judges Ready to post their veredicts for "December Horological Questions" editions.

 By: Subexplorer : December 20th, 2020-07:50
Our judges this weekend have been working very hard and are ready to send their veredicts no later than 5PM UTC in this same thread.

I wish to thank so much our Volunteer Judges this week end for their most valuable work:

Honorable Art/Dr. No with Best Static Shot

Honorable VinnieD with Best Wrist Shot

I will be judging Watch of the Week as it is the tradition for the host to judge this category.

I also wish to thank all participants for their enthusiastic posts along the week end answering the questions I made when opening the WS post on Friday. We have enjoyed viewing awesome watches and learning about their stories behind as well.

I wish every one enjoyed as much as I did and it is my hope every one will have a nice Christmas Season and  a good end of this so different year 2020 and that the New Year 2021 will bring much needed Health and the return to a more normal life to us around the World.

Have a nice week ahead friends! Best, Abel

Hello again friends! Here my veredict for WOTW category...

 By: Subexplorer : December 20th, 2020-08:07
With so many wonderful watches deserving the title of Watch of the Week it was not easy for me to choose only one timepiece. So I arrived to this veredict...

The JLC Master Grande Tradition MR Ti from Nicolas is a wonderful watch I could try on my wrist some years ago when meeting Nicolas and has been haunting my mind since then... Here shown is a superb shot:

Yacomino shared another watch worth the title with his anticipated delivery from Santa:

Lange & S Up Down:

Art´s last catch came with a wonderful Xmas Tale behind confirming that Santa exists and that Stars align for us from time to time. Vintage Omega with double signature Niklaus/Bern retailer.

Then we have Captain Scarlet with the new Snoopy which I personally think is the "Watch of the Year 2020": a great job from Omega with that extraordinary and unique moving complication on its case back.

Then a watch that left me with my mouth opened big when I viewed it and thinking: That´s a true Xmas watch!  The full of bling FM Crazy Hours shared by Watchonthewrist.

I hope you will accept that I declare these five watches as winners of the WOTW title for this edition of WS!

Big congrats to all winners and to all participants of our classic WS feature.

Have a nice week ahead my dear friends. Merry Xmas!
Abel

Wristshot

 By: VinnieD : December 20th, 2020-08:17

Abel, your selection captures many pieces that I also found interesting - good that they get mentioned.

Here are my wristshot votes :

1st place: rrregulator with a shiny Lange and superb dial reflections. My vote has been unashamedly biased by my appreciation of that reference.

2nd place: the shiny PSM from hmd4m – very festive!

3rd place: Bobbe, with the red anOrdain because of the family background and the brand with a fresh offering in the market that I appreciate. May you maintain positive relationships with your family, it is not always easy to do so but it is worth mending some fences from time to time.End December is certainly a good time to do so.

Special mention: Frodsham shot by Spangles: not only the watch very special but the wristshot reminds me of the time when we, as kids, used to cut off photos of desired toys in magazines. It is such a great feeling to be waiting for a watch. I have waited several months for my two latest purchases and I really liked this period (Speedy Tuesday I and a limited piece from Grand Seiko).

Fun Factor: mince pie Oyster from Cpt Scarlet. Or a gateau à l’huitre. Yum !

Congrats to our new friend rrregulator.
