WristScan for 9/16/2016 starts now: Modern watches with a Vintage twist!
Now that I am back in school the budget is a little tight.
But I fell in love with this modern interpretation of a vintage model released by Bulova in the 1950's.
A generic automatic Sellita movement but so far + 4 sec per day on the wrist.
I love the applied numerals, font used, and most importantly the date window doesn't "bite" into any of the numbers
Looking forward to everyone's choice for their favorite modern interpretation of a vintage watch.

It has to be a GP with "Vintage" in the name
and then it can only be the Vintage 1945. What I really like is how GP took the original 1940ies design and modernised it without adding any faux patina.
Over the years since the release in 1995, the case size has increased but it is done in a very clever way still fitting a normal size wrist without looking ridiculous.
Here is the original from the 40ies (thanks to GP for letting me play with it), followed by my Vintage 45 XXL.

CC, did the original also have a curved case back?
I once owned an example of the Vintage 1945...in retrospect, it was the most comfortable watch that I've worn.

Hi Mike, if I recall correctly
the case back of the original is a snap-on caseback and not curved but the overall case shape is curved like in the modern incarnation.

Thanks, I have a vintage Gruen Curvex from the 40's
with a curved back but I didn't know if any other manufactures at the time was implementing it as well.
What an optical illusion on the original GP though....it really looked like it did.
