G'day,
to each his own and in the end, you may do well to see both on your wrist and then decide which one speaks more to you.
For me, this would be the L1. Not because it´s an icon, but it´s a very fine watch and i happen to like the more "sober" look very much.
Both of the models proposed represent a different approach in style and design, which makes them hard to compare. I´d guess at some point you may find yourself being the lucky owner of both! Being a little biased, for me the L1 would be the one to start with
Just don´t forget to share the outcome
Cheers,
Peter
is clear between the two...
It would be a more difficult decision between the L1 Moonphase and the Patek 5396, which has the additional complication of an annual calendar. In the end, I think I will still opt for the L1MP, which I have been enjoying for the past three years.

Hi there,
lange 1 moon phase seems to be my choice here too!
Lange 1 MP seems to be surface from the rest of the watches simply due to its finest and simplicity.
FP's octane to me seems to be far more than a gap if compare to L1MP side by side interms of carftmanship and design that reveals its individualistic although the price difference is not much.
so,happy hunting!

You're the one wearing the watch, so if the Lange 1 Moonphase doesn't "speak" to you, why buy it?
You'll always gonna think "I should have gotten the FPJ Lune instead" because you think it looks better. First impressions are 99% always right IMO.
Just my 2 cents,
Anthony
I have an Octa Lune in red gold as well as a Lange 1 (not moonphase) in yellow gold.
Both are great!!!!! And the Lange 1 is not that different, on the wrist, from the L1 moonphase, you just have the sweep second dial rather than the moonphase.
My subjective impression is that the moonphase added much less to the L1, which is a gorgeous design, than the moonphase added to the Octa, where it took an intriguing but slightly eccentric design and made it into a thing of beauty.
As I said, I have both and they are very different experiences, but if I had to pick a beauty contest winner, the Octa Lune in that particular color combination edges out the L1... Edges mind you.... but still to me the nod clearly does go to the Octa Lune.
