Lange Odysseus...finally had the opportunity to see it in the flesh.

I won’t attempt to write a soliloquy since many have written about this piece. I will be brief and succinct. This piece looks better in person than in photos! I liked the feel on the wrist, the hue of the blue dial and the legibility of the day and date. I don’t like the bracelet as many have shared. The AD was well aware of the commentary around the bracelet and did their best to explain. All that said, I like the piece, but not enough to purchase it. It just doesn’t “move” me.

I ts a cool piece, nevertheless [nt]

I did! And it’s interesting that you asked about the pusher because...the pusher here (see photo) is a most welcomed feature! Having the additional pusher on the new Zeitwerk makes setting the time MUCH easier! Loved this piece, but I have the original.

Wow!! I want to see this one!!

 By: Ted-Lo : January 25th, 2020-11:43
Do you feel it wears too big?

Not really! It is almost 3mm long that. The original Zeitwerk, but it’s a tad thinner. The size difference is negligible and since I have the original it’s barely noticeable. However, I had it on for a matter of minutes, which must be considered. [nt]

One day when I am back in NYC.

Agreed with all that you wrote about the ZW Date...

The hour pusher is a welcome addition, it felt great on the wrist when I tried it, and it didn't wear too big on my small wrist. Lange did well with that watch.

You probably already know I like it...

There are other owners who tried different straps and that helps me prefer this original look.

I do! That is what makes life great—varied tastes! Indeed a new set of shoes would raise the “likability” factor for me. Enjoy yours! [nt]

Completely agree with your comments. The WG sporty Langes like the black dialed Lange 1 Moonphase are the way to go if you dont like the elegant look. [nt]

I like the watch and the calendar quadrature.

When it comes to the bracelet, my opinion (for whatever that is worth) is that fine, mechanical watches should have leather strap.

👍🏾 There’s something about the combination of a fine leather band and an exquisite, distinct timepiece. Just wish the leather didn’t wear so quickly! [nt]

What I would have done

 By: watch-er : January 26th, 2020-06:47
is put a center seconds sweep hand on. A sports watch needs better seconds legibility and timing. The subsidiary seconds dial is more for a dress watch. I would have deleted the day display entirely and simply put the big date window at say 6 as 3 is so typical and quite boring on the other brands. I have no issues with the bracelet if it molds to the wrist and is precisely adjustable to fit odd wrist sizes which I seem to have. Finally, blue dials are the current fad but in my view way overdone. A second concurrent dial color offering here with a neutral dial would have been nice.

You make some interesting points they have me thinking! Thanks. [nt]

I was also extremely impressed by the “in the metal” experience.

Highly recommend any skeptics to try to get some hands-on time.

Pushers are lovely and firm. Bracelet seems perfectly proportioned on the wrist.

I've tried it on too, just don't like the bracelet... in the metal made no difference to my initial thoughts... [nt]
