I just bought a pre-owned Breguet Tradition 7047, which, even under a 10x loupe, appears to me to have never been worn. It came with the original box and papers, including a registration card that has never been filled out. It also includes the certificate of origin and warranty which shows the original sale date and the retailer who sold it back in 2013.
If I were to fill out the registration card and matched the retailer name and date, would I be considered the original owner by Breguet? Would I get my name in the book?
The actual reason I even care about this is that I'm always sheepish whenever I go into a Breguet boutique, like I'm a bit of a poser. It would be nice to go in there knowing that, according to their own internal records, I bought a new watch from them at an authorized dealer at some point. FWIW, they've never made me feel that way. It's all in my head.
Second, yes they will register it under your name and you will get a letter confirmation of your registration into the archives. I would suggest filling it out and doing the online upload as much quicker process. Congratulations!
I just submitted the registration online. I'm pretty optimistic since I registered another pre-owned watch I had, and to my surprise, it went through. So I'm now in the book once and am now going for twice!
