There is nothing like the Anglican Capital spelled in French. It adds a lot of mystique to it,and almost smells like Paris. Céline’s unedited and obscure description of London’s vulgarity and brutality does help with the smell of early urbanism.
( PS I fell asleep just reading the preface, but it still fascinates me-very obscure. Some people claim he revolutionised the French contemporary language and slang to where it is today- TRUE!! )
Just as the Breguet is 100% Swiss family and heritage, but they must have fallen in love with Paris early in their history and will somehow always be Parisian.
