I owned a planet Ocean 2500D a while ago, and sold it to get the seamaster commander's watch

Both has plus and minus for me.
PO definitely more legible in terms of hands. The bezel is easier to grip. But the bezel design is generic.
The seamaster has more distinctive characters, like scalloped bezel (although can be slippery to grip), skeleton hands (not really fan but still OK), more softer and beautiful twisted lugs. Also a bit thinner (due to 300 mtr WR vs 600 of the PO).
If both has same caliber, I would prefer seamaster. If not, generally I prefer the one with caliber 8800. Too bad I don't like the current PO design (the dashed markers on bezel, the fatter hands, the super shiny dial).

The planet ocean vs the seamaster 300? I have owned both multiple times and am much more drawn to the planet ocean line. I do think price wise the seamaster 300 offers more bang for buck though. ...
Both are great watches.

I do own both and they are quite different...and to a certain degree complementary. The SMP is your friendly everyday diver with classic proportions and and a more elegant is sensibly lighter and, yes,to a certain degree also more comfortable on the wrist...
