The Railmaster 60th Anniversary!

May 07, 2020,13:19 PM

Question to the forum... I see a lot of love on this watch and for good reason on this forum... have almost bought it twice and just passed it up yesterday again..even at a large discount from my local AD..Do you think this will become a collector piece in 10-20 years and  highly sought after?  It seems they are still easy to get and AD's are trying to get rid of them...
My question is somewhat polarizing as it seems like they made too many individual (3557) pieces of each of the trilogies, but the railmaster is the least LE produced piece in this Trilogy overall... so thinking that because it is doesn't have 30 different variations or LE additions it could create a cult following...
And everyone that seems to wear one on this forum can't take it off despite having many other options at their disposal...
Any feedback is welcome!

I own the watch since 2 years and it is a complete gem in all aspects. I wrote once in this forum that if it would be PP or a big crown offering, it would sell for multiple times more and it would be impossible to source. It is an outstanding watch and co...

Try it as a project if you like.

I have a Apollo 11 45 Anniversary, only owner, never worn, receipt from AD and all box and papers. It’s been in my safe since 2014. I got it new like $6k selling used like $9k now. It’s a project of mine to auction it at like a Sothebys in 30 years, just ...

I was thinking of also doing basically what you just said... Buying it and sitting on it for awhile..

And forget about the one you buy. I think I had like 7 other OMEGAs I wore among other brands, it’s okay to mix it up in my opinion. I guess I just would not make a business out of it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can do that as I have 3 other Omegas already, a JLC..

If you buy at the right price, disposing of it later on won't be a problem..

Not quite the investment, but at least a "decent" store of value. I'm thinking it's relatively also easy to move over time. Just get one, enjoy it for what it is and assess from there. Personally, I think there's a long term upside to it. Maybe not Sotheb...

Echi pretty much said it all. There will probably be a . . .

. . . proper manual winding Rail homage in the not-too-distant future. If and when that event comes to pass, there will be another glut of 60ths on the market. Mine . . . . . . may be one of them. 😬 ...
