The Ploprof is one classic Omega . . .
. . . where my affection for the current version is as strong, if not stronger, than for the vintage.

The titanium models introduced a few years ago induced instant lust, and I was sorely tempted. As it happened, the limited Rail was announced shortly after these came out, so I focused my efforts there.
With the benefit of hindsight, maybe I should've gone for the Ploprof instead. Then I could fully enjoy a modern Rail when Omega sees fit to eventually issue one with a manual winding movement.

In titanium, without date . . .
. . . yes, the current Ploprof is more appealing on a personal level. Maybe not in the abstract, but as a watch to be worn on my wrist, yes, without hesitation.
It's the startling lightness of titanium . . .
. . . that makes the modern Ploprof a watch to be reckoned with on its own merits. Still imposing, but light as a feather . . . quite different compared with the original.
