The Omega Speedmaster of my Dreams: Speedmaster 1450022 Alaska Project Type 2.

Seeing pictures of your grail is one thing, seeing it in the real is a totally different experience.

It stays stuck in your head for the end of times.

The Alaska Project Type 2 certainly is a watch I will never get. I missed one some ten years ago, from a collector based in Italy, and the train has gone. Funding it is a huge problem, but finding it is even wrose, with a handful prototypes made. 5? 10? Not much more!

So, yes, I think we can call it a Grail. Something impossible to find and get.

Pictures taken at the Omega Museum.

The consolation lot would be to find a nice homage, from 2008. But it is not totally the same, of course.

Best,

Nicolas

I had my heart set on an original Rail . . .

. . . from the beginning, Nicolas. When the limited edition was announced in early '17, I thought, "Here's a chance to finally own the Omega I've been chasing for years." So I bought it. And was happy . . . at first. The problem is, I still want an origin...

I have to laugh as...

I was offered a very cheap reissue, new complete set in 2008/9 and turned it down. LOL.

What have we done 😮 [nt]

...I unfortunately had to content myself with the commemorative edition!

This is the last Speedmaster from which I would separate: so ethereal... HAGWE! massi ...

I would be happy with just the commemorative edition...

the original goes beyond a watch to being a historical artifact. An impossible watch!
