Always the best thing is to not hesitate, and bring it quickly to repair shop.

A few years ago i lose my Tissot to a floor hit, by a pin buckle which was not locked into the leather strap.
At a Monday morning, so it was a very blue Monday for me 🥺.
When returning from a Swatch group repair center i was 🤗.

I have also a carpet next to my bed, and i use it as a safe guard for my Omega Seamster 300m.
Reading your story, i wil be more careful.

Frozen in time, sadly...

I knocked my lovely blue side of the moon off the night table, the other night. It landed gently, or so I thought, on the carpet beside the bed. Not gently enough, it stopped in it’s tracks. Off to the Omega service center which is of course still closed,...

It was a short "fall" for sure. I was very surprised to see that it had stopped.

I first noticed that it was not working when it was frozen in a winder, a day after the drop. I wound it again gave it a little shake and it started again. Back into the winder and it stopped again after 2 hours. This then happened a third time after roug...

haha, I thought that I had better comment on your comment before someone else, it was a hard "moon" landing.

...like so many here. Makes me wonder what would be the average number of watches owned by participants in this forum, although I imagine most on here are not what one would call "average" collectors.

Might be worth starting a thread on this? If there are enough responses to the "How many do you own?" question, we could calculate an average.

(Though I'd be at least mildly surprised if it hadn't been done sometime before. 🧐 ) It would be interesting to see the range in any case!

Does this watch have a display caseback? If so, take a look at the hairspring and balance wheel... is the balance wheel perfectly centered under the jewel and does the hairspring look perfectly spiraled? This won’t be a complete diagnosis but it may be as...

Really sorry to hear what happened with you but at the same time upset with the watch manufacturer.....

these are meant to be tool watches and subject to extreme conditions and knocks, so if a soft landing on a carpet can put them out of commission then that doesn't really induce any confidence in me to consider their offerings. Just saying. S

Only my Seamaster PO 2500 ever broke from a five foot drop onto marble. Please let us know what actually broke when you find out?

It is back in the winder and running, we'll see how long it goes... hopefully it was just a gremlin but I'm not holding my breath.... I planned on dropping it off at the AD on Friday so we'll see what happens in the interim.

With bated breath I went into my office this morning to see the status of the Omega, it was right on time! It seems like a good old fashioned shake, rattle and roll, got it moving again. Like giving an old car a swift kick to get the motor running, a high...
