Speedmaster Mk II Advice Please

Jul 21, 2018,03:57 AM

Guys,

I was in the Omega boutique and the Mk II reissue really caught my eye - I think it was the modern retro (if that makes sense?) look that really caught my eye. Initially I saw the Rio 2016 limited edition but it was the grey / orange race dial that I am really considering (it is on hold as I consider over the weekend).

Does anyone know of a recent surge in demand in this watches (the grey / orange)? The AD (who I believe was being genuine) informed me that they had experienced a surge in demand for this model and that Omega themselves were not sure why - he even asked me whether I had seen anything on social media (which I hadn't). I honestly don't believe the AD was lying but he was successfully generating some FOMO within me, does anyone know of anything that may be driving this potential demand? I've done my own research and whilst there are a few pieces available on a couple of resellers it does seem that they are a bit harder to come by so any thoughts would be welcome.

I know I should buy it if I like it (which I do), I just prefer not to rush if I don't have to as you never know what I might fall in love with next week!

Thanks in advance. Koozy

Probably because of the latest Ultraman release. Or he's just talking gibberish.
