Should I go for it?

Greetings to dear members of this forum! How do y'all do?

It's been awhile since I have been online in this site as I was overwhelmed with the amount of work that I had recently...
As things started to cooling down, I look at sales and things alike and I found this...

I love everything, while the crown is a bit smallish as it seems to be replaced and the caseback was brushed. I can polish the caseback up, but I wonder if I should keep going as I'm not sure I could find the original crown as the case number is not listed in the ofrei.
Idk as I'm a newbie, but my instinct tells me that this one is a one hell of a beast... But I'm still not sure how far could I go with this (as probably I went too far with the black dialed seamaster 351 before).

(Non chronomètre or gold case but won at 1.9k US$)

(No regrets so far! 😄)

So...
Any more information for this piece? Perhaps if it's possible with the crown ref that I have to purchase together with this watch, hehe.
Thanks guys!

Best
Jev

. . . an opportunity that can't be missed. A ref 2515 is at the very top of my current list. The example you've located is original other than the crown. Art PS - you're a few posts away from 1K - here's hoping that milestone will be an acquisition post o...

Oh wow...

. . . wish you'd gotten it - these practically never come up in decent condition. Art

Real shame.....

.....as Art says, they don’t often come up and that one was a lovely example. Might be a while before you see another one. My commiserations. What was the final sale price? Chris

Jev sent me a pm . . .

. . . disclosing it went for ~ $5K. That's a fair price for that reference in that condition, imho. Art

Appreciate the info....
