The Omega Railmaster Officers dial with a center sweep seconds in Red !

Reference 165.070 with automatic caliber 550/600...something produced between 1964 ~ 68.

what is not to love on this - incredibly clean dial & the touch of red !!

the predecessor, Omega had the 'Rail Road official standard with Cal 600 in 1963 mainly made for Canada pacific company...almost seems to be the starting point for this dial

may be some pocket watches with such dial ?!

now all i got to do is convince the owner ;-)

Best,
mahesh.,

And this watch, the Omega I mean, had to be discontinued because the story says that Ball sued Omega. So, according to what I think, Omega made it for only one year. Good watch to have, my friend. Best, Nicolas ...

Ah I didn’t knew that !

So the 165.070 is a rare Omega railmaster. 1 year production. Ball could not live with it, and see where Omega is today. Interesting to see both of the watches, the similarity.

Definitely.

with comes of the RR standards. Manny train accidents happen in the USA a long time ago when machinists and conductors wore watches which where highly decorated, dials with complex roman numbers, and last but least bad movement’s which were not that accur...

Clearly. Here is another one...

UG used a different name to avoid problems with the competitors.

I think the dial had unavoidable similarities...

Also reminds me very much of the Swiss railway official timepiece Mondaine

Yes!

There was an even earlier predecessor, Mahesh. Our first Omega forum moderator Bill Sohne . . .

. . . owned one of two confirmed examples. He's long since sold his. Anyone searching for the ultimate obscure Omega would do well to find a white ref 2777 Railmaster. You'd have #3. ...

Aaah, this one....
