Opinions please?

Hi folks. Considering a Speedmaster Moonwatch Pro, the one without the mineral glass and with solid case back.
I’ve been offered a new unworn full set complete with the humongous case and all the bits and 4.5 years of warranty remaining for £3k

Is that a decent deal? Seems there are so many speedmasters I have my doubts as to value retention or dare I say increase longer term.

Many thanks in advance

If you like the Moonwatch with all it's glorious history, yes you may buy one. No watch is bought as an investment instrument, unless its a rare piece or values in at least 6 figures. It's an iconic watch and an excellent daily watch IMHO.

it is a great piece, for sure.

One of my favorites, and I love wearing mine. Comfortable and functional. Takes many different straps well, in addition to the bracelet. It's *relatively* inexpensive, as these things go, so I don't look to the piece for meaningful value retention; but Om...

I find the Speedmaster to be one of the most satisfying dials.

There is something very clear, legible, about the 60 second track and center seconds. I just love it. It’s also a classic and so one could think of it as a long term piece. I wear mine on various straps, completely changes the look of the watch and so tha...

with the Moon mission, it is one great timepiece to have on the wrist. as Jay have said above, it goes well on bracelet / leather straps / nato & what not... you should go for the timepiece if you like it. i've always said to myself, 'i'll never buy a spe...

...it's widely believed that next month, when Omega announces new pieces, the 1861 Movement which is in the watch pictured, will be retired and replaced with the 3861. The 3861 is a much better movement and due to improved quality, it stands to reason a n...

Don’t bother about the resell value , just enjoy the watch and if you want to sell it after some time and you get your money back your lucky, if not you just keep it or sell it and take your loss, at least you had a nice time with a great watch . Just my ...

My reply have to do with my way and Omega. This year i’ve got my Omega. A watch friend tipped me about speedmasters, but i went for a Seamaster. It is my water and sea love why i go for wet instead of space. Ships and nautics always in my DNA. Omega never...

. . . and worthwhile so long as you're aware of comparably priced vintage models yet prefer owning new. Going vintage entails a fair amount of study, not to mention access to a reliable watchmaker. You can get into a decent -78 for about the same outlay. ...

Just collected this morning. It’s new and unused registered only last month. I have to say it wears smaller than I expected as I rarely go over 40mm. It’s a really classy looking watch. I can understand their popularity and iconic status and decades produ...
