Omega Speedmaster ST 105 003 from 1963. The original, or the re edition?

When you see such a nice specimen like this:

For a bit less than the re edition freshly announced...  You start to wonder which one to jump on... Personally, I am very happy to see the re edition, it is a very nice one, but I would favor the original. And not only because of the price. Because of the Soul!

Best,

Nicolas

In the seventies, in Madrid, I won a brand new Speedmaster (first watch to the moon, etc.) playing cards. In the eighties, I was stupid enough to trade it for a 1949 Rolex Oyster. I’ve missed the old Speedmaster since. Now I own a new one, the one in the ...

The original

And it's not even a close call. I mean, the original is not made anymore, and the new one will be there for years. An original in a good condition would easily be my pick, even if the reedition is nice.

Well I choose BOTH 😁...

I have 2 original Ed Whites Nicolas, one is pristine and untouched condition, and I am still excited to get the new re-edition as I explained in another thread. The problem with the vintage piece is replacement parts, damage, etc... That is the advantage ...

While I appreciate vintage watches and have done so for many years, I find that I like to wear my watches and often times in rough situations....

so for me I prefer modern watches more than vintage watches. I guess I am more an enthusiast who likes to wear a variety or watches than a collector who has more focus or has a theme for their collection 🤷‍♂️🤪

If I had the 2020 edition, I'd still want . . .

. . . the '63. On the other hand, if I had the '63, I could easily do without the current edition. ...

I still say both 😁 [nt]
