It's the hands and lumination
Dec 30, 2020,19:14 PM
The way the lume is designed and placed on the dial is not pleasant to me. Also the the hour hands and minute hands are way too short. I hate how the minute track is inside the hour markers; Making the watch dial not in proportion. While I understand it is a vintage re-issue, Omega could update the look just a little. On the case back, Omega should have put an air plane on one and a boat on the other Seamaster 1948. Maybe have the plane/boat in gold on the rotor.
For me, the JLC Geophysic 1958 re-issue is a much better looking watch; Almost perfect when it comes to 3 center handers vintage style/re-issue

My recent poor experience with Rolex watches and Rolex servicing (see post on Rolex forum if you aren’t put off by bad customer service) and the off-hand comparison of omega watches to “5 dollar plastic watches” by the Rolex service center watchmaker, alo...

Add the ultra ridiculous price into the equation and you have a cheap looking expensive watch.
All my watches are Omegas (I'm obviously biased😂)

But the point is bigger than Rolex alone...while I think Omega is undervalued (but catching up VERY quickly) it is galling when certain (not Rolex actually) brands get away with sub standard products with excuses like”they are hand made”, “don’t look to c...
What gets me about Rolex🤬

Of all the top tier brands brands; they are the only one to not offer exhibition backs. They don’t do the exotic finishing that we have come to expect from fine watchmakers!

Omega is a brand that goes for detailed watches i experienced with my own Seamaster. I was not known with the brand before i bought my Seamaster. I red some comments on communities about a Seamaster with a failure in the dial and bazel. The outlining was ...

Any cursory YouTube search of the words Rolex, Patek nautilus, Royal oak will yield all the top watch YouTubers offering alternatives to said watches. Being someone who’s owned 4 Rolex watches so far (2 SS sports, 2 datejust), and two of those needing ser...

I believe that they are starting to change their approach. More push for the constellation, Tresor and deville lines. Also, not sure if it was intentional/manufactured scarcity or what, but I didn’t see a single manual wind speedmaster during a quick visi...

Omega vs Rolex

It’s such a complex issue, by era or by price history. In the 90’s to early 2000’s they used many ETA movements, so the comparison is likely more similar to a Tudor today. But in terms of finishing, I think their cases are better finished than the rough e...
