Need help with this Omega rerefence
Team,
Got this watch and one of the reasons, besides the extreme low cost, was that it looks very "funky" and is very comfortable on the wrist.
I would love to receive some advise from the experts.
It's, for sure, a good example of the crazy 70's creativity:
1) The case back does not open, it just give access to the bracelet!
2) To get access to the movement, one needs to unscrew the crown and, using a proper tool, to remove the crystal!
3) As some Omega movements of this time, the date change by "pumping" the crown.
Enough said, I saw here that the reference of this watch is 166.081, but here is my question:
Searching the Omega vintage database, for this reference, I got this watch, that looks similar but is not the same (at least on the dial):
From Omega Vintage database I got:
Dimensions: Ø39 mm- Reference
- ST 166.0081
- International collection
- 1969 - 1975
- Movement
- Type: Automatic (mechanical)
- Caliber number: 565
- Created in 1965
24 jewels
With central sweep-second hand - Functions
- Date
- Case
- Stainless steel
- Case back
- Unishell (case opening on dial side)
- Dial
- Different types of dials available, with luminous "stick" hands
- Crystal
- Armoured glass
- Bracelet
- Stainless steel (integrated)
- Water resistance
- 30 meters
My question is if the reference is correct our if there is another reference?
As a side note, using this "funky" dial one can only be sure about the time at every quarter hour.
Thanks in advance,
Nilo
