Yes, a rare example of the original iteration of ref 2179, marked without a slash.  I've never seen a caseback marked 2179/1, only 2179/2 thru 2179/6.  There were reputedly ten thousand 2179/2 and /3 produced under contract for the US Army, plus countless thousands more /4, /5, and /6 for private agents after the war.  Ref 2179-no slash are extremely rare, I've seen only one other.  

(This one has a refinished dial but is otherwise correct.)
