Just for the pleasure of sharing the pleasure of enjoying for a few days a wonderful vintage Omega belonging to my dear friend Art!!

Hello friends!!

It not a common experience to enjoy wearing a beautiful watch belonging to a friend who lives some 6.300 miles from home.

But you know, watch collecting is a long meandering road full of surprises, opportunities and thrilling experiences. And I´m having this rare privilege right now and I wish to share these shots here.

Last February Art PM me regarding this watch which was being offered in internet by an Argentine seller. The idea was to try to approach him in person to view the watch in the metal and confirm its condition and originality.

With the kind help of a friend of mine (who is a local professional seller of vintage watches) we could finaly find and contact the seller and after several failed intents we could get this special Omega just three days ago.

I will post my pictures and ask Art to explain the details which make this Omega so special. It is a reference 2494-2 with a beautiful caliber 352 RG chronometer inside.  36 mm steel case with a rose gold bezel and gold indexes make for the charm of this Omega.

I feel very happy to participate in what Art called "The Special Omega Project" (Lol!) and being able to help in getting this piece after a thrilling chase and hunting.

I wish Art will enjoy this watch so much in a few weeks and that he will add it to his great collection of vintage Omegas!!

Cheers! Abel.

I will add a few shots of the inside (photos by the seller)

In all my years of following Omega, I'd never seen a ref 2494 . . .

. . . quite like this one. Rose gold bezel and dial furniture on a steel case: highly unusual. Chronometer rating: even more so. Cal 35 2 ? Practically unique. I've come across one (or possibly two) cal 352 ref 2494s in the past, but none as exquisite as ...

Dear Art, the pleasure is mine! a big pleasure and a big happiness to reach this happy end! Yes, absolutely agree: Friendships like ours are priceless and I appreciate yours so much!!
