I doubt Steve G would mind our borrowing his pic much . . .

. . . so long as he's attributed as its author.
Btw, Steve used to post here when it was The Purists. Besides his well-documented example, both Tony [log-in: TNT] and Mike [log-in: MSNWatch] have Homages in their collections. One of them (Tony, I think) installed a 30T2rg movement in his . . . kinda like putting a 911S engine in a 911T. So if we're considering inactive members of this forum, the 1894 is already a community watch.

Timeless is used inflationary on a watch site, but still: what a watch! Rose gold suits her so nice: The watch was recently suggested by our dear Art to me during my hosting of WristScan. Thank you Art! ...

. . . than knowing my suggestion led to an acquisition. I'm sure it will be a keeper, Count. Not wearing mine until my watchmaker tends to it; he's working on White Connie at the moment, so it will be a few months before it's ready for wrist duty. But whe...

They're hard to find, Count - only a hundred made . . .

. . . and for Japan exclusively. If you find one, chances are it'll be in Japan. Now if the Captain and one more (Bruce? Ray?) snags an 1894, it'll officially be a community watch. Wouldn't that be something? All credit to Esharp for getting the ball roll...
I was also thinking it to be a community watch π
By: COUNT DE MONET : February 26th, 2021-11:27
To be honest, I didn't think to get this one and also in good condition. It was pure luck Without sounding tacky: it looks like a far, far more expensive watch, then it was. Fantastic quality.
You are right about the timing: now is possibly the time to get it.

Mine is also a full set and with a very fine blemish on the bezel at 6 and one or two miniscule dings. Nothing really noticeable with the naked eye. It was possibly serviced at one point. The value for money aspect in this instance is fantastic!
Wowowoowowow!

First of all, congratulations to our dear Count! Wear and enjoy it in good health. I wore mine on Thursday and couldnβt take my eyes off it, even when meeting with a pal who was wearing his 5712. Thanks to Art for quietly encouraging me when I popped up o...

. . . take a bow - you deserve the credit. From now on, you'll be known as The Instigator. In the nicest way possible, of course.
