Because it really reflects my experience with the boutiques. Since many brands are phasing out ADs (Lange, AP, Vacheron) things got really weird.
The AP "House" looks like a museum. I asked if they had any watches available and they said "but it is by appointment only". I asked why do I need an appointment just for an information. Do I really need an appointment iif you have no watch?
"I have availability for an appointment in 2 weeks" err... just for an information ? There was literally no client around. "We need to know the potential clients first". Umh. I am already a client, I was wearing a RO.
Eventually a sales executive š rolling her eyes profusely invited me to sit and two code 11.59 appeared. I wasn't really interested in buying (I actually went just for a strap change on my Royal Oak) and even wearing their brand was seen as a stigma "oh you are lucky you already got some rare references" well lucky, I paid them! LOL
Lange is phasing out a partnership boutique after just 2 years. I know at least one of the sales associates. She didn't even want to show much beside a Lange 31.
No inventory and since they will be closing (Lange will plan to open their own by appointment only outfit) there was zero interest. Truth to be told I think they are not doing much here in Switzerland. They had a good AD network that was getting clients to appreciate them, but they terminated all of them.
The big prize for cordiality goes to the Omega. Granted, I have a long relationship with the boutique, but they are always extremely cordial and they have a lot of inventory.
To me if you can't buy watches you have no point in keeping a boutique/point of sales up.
Luckily I have a good relationship with the Rolex multi brand AD, Omega Boutique etc., plenty of options with cordial and motivated sellers. I like to vote with my š
