I look at pictures, ch24.
Maybe i must see the JLC’s geophysics in the flesh to get a better opinion.

It’s a kind of style that must be burned in me.
My experience with watches are when i see pictures and after some time i am in a store, that i fell for the watch and make the sales people happy with a purchase.
The opposite is possible either, like Rolex on pictures are for me a no go, and spotting Rolex in a window display and in the shop rack, it is clear it are my kind of watches. These are so nice in real, the YM in white gold and the bleu Milgauss GV.

I ALMOST pulled the trigger again!

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-21:15
That means: I almost bought this watch. I’ve been looking for a Worldtimer for a long time. I really looked around a lot and tried to get as much information as possible. From Patek to Breguet, from Vacheron to GP, from GO to Nomos. And I was always missi...

Hard to visualize the watch in the plastic.

 By: Bill : January 21st, 2022-22:19
I am sure it will turn out for the better.

I am sure!

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-22:24
The sales lady unpacked the watch, I detected the scratch and then after that I wasn’t able to take another photo. So this „plastic shot“ is all I have for now.

Nice looking WT

Unfortunate event, but this is nice about being in person. Omega has a lot of great watches going for it these days.

Well, I've now really looked into their product catalog intensively.

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-23:30
And yes, Omega offers a lot. But for my taste, there are far too many different models and numerous slight modifications of existing models. It is not easy to get a good overview. From my point of view, the Workdtimer really stands out here. It looks very...

great choice and indeed one of the few World Time with a great water resistance!

 By: christianch : January 21st, 2022-22:42
sad that there was this "incident" but I think you can ask for a new one to be delivered and enjoy it fully

You are completely right.

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-23:32
And yes, I think I will go for a „virgin“. 😊 Anyway, I will for sure close this deal before the end of January because of the announced price increases starting with February 1th.

Pull the trigger...

 By: MikiJ : January 21st, 2022-22:57
I have no need for a World Timer but when I spotted this one, I'll find the need. Lovin' it

I love it do.

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-23:24
I will for sure pull the trigger. But not for a 95% solution. I want 100%. 😊

DA...I forgot about the scratch...

 By: MikiJ : January 22nd, 2022-00:28
Not on a NIB watch straight from the AD. Wait for "100%" for sure, then put your own scratch on it ;-)

Hahahaha!

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-12:10
That was what I also told to the sales staff. No they try l hard to solve the problem, then I would walk out of the shop and a few days later I would scratch the watch by myself. 😎 That would be the same result but a complete different feeling. To buy som...

Same as buying a new car...

 By: MikiJ : January 22nd, 2022-12:36
The first scratch belongs to you

But that can also be very sad…

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-15:58
...

Yes - That is sad :-(

 By: MikiJ : January 22nd, 2022-17:27

It really wasn't easy for me, Tony

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-23:23
On the other hand: what is waiting a few days compared to a perfect solution for years. I even considered having the watch polished a little and taking it with me right away. But then I just didn't want to have already polished the watch before wearing it...

Thanks a lot.

 By: MTR : January 21st, 2022-23:49
And yes, this watch for sure is special. And useful, too. Photos from the Omega website. ...

Thank you, dear Tony!

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-21:06
I haven't bought it / haven't been able to buy it yet. But I'm determined to get it. By the way: what does "mtmv" mean? I didn't find this on the internet.

Aaaah. Ok :-)

+1 I totally agree

 By: PoyFR : January 22nd, 2022-05:37

Every time I handle a new Omega I am extremely impressed with the build quality

 By: MichaelC : January 22nd, 2022-01:35
This is a very serious brand , priced much lower than it could be, especially relative to competitors. Can't wait to see photos of it on your wrist!

Thanks a lot Michael!

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-12:17
Yes, this would be my first Omega and I was astonished about the build quality of this model. The whole concept of this Worldtimer seems very well thought out. I also had a look at the steel version with the steel bracelet (not the rubber strap). To be ho...

I am trying very hard, but nothing, nothing wrong. a real nice piece

 By: PoyFR : January 22nd, 2022-05:43
for me it would probably be on bracelet. Good luck with your purchase to come.

I feel the same.

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-12:20
The Sedna gold version convinced me. I also like here the wonderful contrast of the white dial to the the laser-made map. But a full gold watch with full gold bracelet would be too much for me. With the leather strap it feels more subtle.

Luxury problems

The best post of this month. Because i am considering a world timer after i’ve got my first moon phase or other complication watch besides dates, gmt, and perpetuals which i score already. I have one Omega, so i taste the great flavor they serve. Better s...

Thank you for “The best post of this month.” 😊🙏

I think WT offer really a useful complication. But they have also to be useful and practicable when traveling. The MB tellerum would be also a nice choice but for me the Omega offers more. What is it’s WR? The Patek Philippe World Timers, which you descri...

One step closer

 By: Weems@8 : January 22nd, 2022-12:10
Throughout some changes in my situation, a world timer watch is more closer than i thought. The Aqua Terra wt, or the Montblanc wt, one of these could become my first watch for this year. Other watches, an oscillator and today maybe the decision can fall,...

It looks really nice.

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-13:11
What does it make so interesting from your point of view?

Rare and common models

 By: Weems@8 : January 22nd, 2022-18:11
Beside the normal Tellerum Orbis, there is a LE. There is a difference in build. What so strong about the MB is the globe in grey only and detailed countries. A few colors, very sober and tech. Two hands and most important No Date! Model name: Heritage Wo...

Secretly, i love it more than the Omega.

Only for MTR

 By: Weems@8 : January 22nd, 2022-18:26
For me it’s good enough. I do not dive into a pool with it. 43mm size is also good for me.

It’s not just because of

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-18:46
diving or swimming. When the WR is higher, the protection against dust, mud, heavy rain, high humidity, high temperature differences is also better. It simply makes me feel more comfortable knowing my travel watch might take a beating too.

It’s a pity.

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-18:51
I always wonder why in general it isn’t possible to have a WR of 10 (or - that's okay with me too - at least 6) bar as a minimum standard for all modern watches. Is this really so difficult to produce?

The name say the WR

 By: Weems@8 : January 22nd, 2022-19:12
Aqua Terra WT, it is a Seamaster. Other world timers are desk watches. Better said, it are business trip watches. Maybe sauna stream must be overwon. An other point why brands use a poor WR rate for world timers are the difficulties that come with sapphir...

I am not sure if the

The Fifty Fathoms

 By: Weems@8 : January 23rd, 2022-18:11
Really a gorgeous watch. I see myself wear it.

Indeed.

 By: MTR : January 23rd, 2022-22:16
Have you ever tried one on your wrist? A very special feeling and a “different” watch for sure.

Then I can only explain it to myself that

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-21:13
it's just a matter of convenience or a cost-saving measure. Or the manufacturers have the impression that the customers don't reflect on this feature and therefore save themselves the effort.

No. We are not. ☺️

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-21:53
But, Nico, is the WR really just useful for swimming or diving? Doesn't the water resistance also provide better protection against dust, mud, heavy rain, high humidity, high temperature differences etc?

Yes, and affordable.

 By: amanico : January 22nd, 2022-19:36

Beautiful!

I am VERY curious WHICH WT

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-13:13
you will choose. And also WHY? Did you also take the JLC Polaris WT into consideration. I know, a Chrono, but…?

This Polaris Geographique WT is indeed a super interesting watch.

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-15:55
I also like the tastefully date indication. And the WR is 100m, which is also an important feature. It’s just a pity that it is just a boutique exclusive limited edition. ...

I am curious

First I make a research on the internet (above all WatchProSite of course), books, catalogs etc. And then - the most important step - I have to see the watch in real. And then it’s a 100% love or not. If it’s not a 100% love I won’t buy it. Sometimes it h...

Good way of proceeding!

Merci, mon ami 🙏

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-13:09
Indeed a huge universe. But I learned if you have clear requirements, what you expect from your travel world watch (features it must have for me like a WR of at least 10 bar and a PR of at least 72 hours), then the possible selection is rapidly reduced.

What do I think about going for the Ω WT? I think . . .

 By: Dr No : January 22nd, 2022-22:32
. . . the rest of your collection would get nervous. Very nervous.

Hahaha

 By: MTR : January 22nd, 2022-22:58
Dear Art, I will definitely go for the Omega Aqua Terra Worldtimer. And the rest of the watches in my collection won’t get nervous because they are used to grief. 😎 Seriously: I've allowed myself the luxury of actually only having watches in my collection...

This is a very nice watch

 By: Wristenthusiast : January 23rd, 2022-17:19
I tried on the steel version and liked it a lot. This WT takes a different approach, the time adjusts but the cities stay in the same place on the dial. I think that helps the watch price be more approachable. I hope a scratch less version finds you soon....

It’s a GMT Worldtimer

 By: MTR : January 23rd, 2022-22:05
The dial has three different rings. The outer ring is shared between the applied hour indices and the city labels. The exterior section of the dial includes a circle of global destinations printed in red (GMT), blue ( 1h in summer) and Sedna gold (places ...

Update

 By: MTR : January 24th, 2022-14:38
Today I was called by the shop. Their managing director has now personally inspected the watch. It is said to be really just a "touch" of a scratch that is "completely superficial" and would be removed with a quick very very light polish for one second (w...

Sounds ok?.

 By: myles721 : January 25th, 2022-18:09
My best friend just bought one so I’ve had some time to check it out…SUPER watch and for me water resistance is a big deal. Nice choice!

Thanks a lot, Myles721. Bought it! :-)
