He suggested replacing the circuit board when we communicated and hes been « finding the part » for 2-3 years now, ive checked for it online and there are available ones, the price he quoted

Is high even today, but I just wanted the work done and thought that would be it and we would get the best possible part. I dont understand why he couldnt find a donor that had a suitable circuit board, there are always many part lot examples for this movement and I thought with his expertise it would be easy to find one, I guess if youre actively looking it you might. With the lack of communication on his end i dont know what to expect.

How long is too long waiting for service?

I've had a timepiece (an Omega) out for service for 4 years now! (yes crazy I know). I received it from a friend and its sentimental to me. I keep emailing this watchmaker that is working on it and he barley even responds (the last time was two years ago ...

And I thought I was a patient man! :-)

Anything more than 12 months for even a vintage piece to me would be too long. I once owned a vintage IWC watch and sent if back to IWC and it took 5 months which to me was fair as it had quite a bit of work done to it. If parts had to be made, 12 months ...

In my opinion 3 till 6 months is normal .

4 years is way to long . Is it possible to pick up the watch ? A normal communication is required in these cases . So when you have contact i would suggest that he sent you the watch and you can look for a other watchmaker who is able to do the job .

With avaliable parts all beyond 6months
