Quite an underrated watch, the globemaster has unique characters that stand out from the rest. Among them is my favourite C-shaped case, straight-cut lugs, with beveled polished edge. Sporty and elegant at the same time. Don't know why it seems not a big seller. Cheers

That fluted bezel. I just can't get Rolex out of my mind—even though (someone correct me if I'm wrong) if memory serves Omega may actually have been first with that design. Can that be right??? Whether 'tis or 'tisn't, the bezel ruins it for me. Otherwise... 

Maybe because Rolex has that market segment . . .

. . . pretty much to itself? It's pretty hard beating Rolex on their home turf. When a guy who isn't into watches decides to spend six or seven thousand dollars on a watch for the first time, he's going to go for the brand name four times out of five. ;-)...

Will associate it with datejust, although the flutes in omega is more narrow and less bling than Rolex's. However, Omega took risk to differentiate Globemaster to the rest of Omega's watches. They would have made it too easy with plain bezel. I appreciate... 

An additional reason might be the marginal relevance of the name . . .

. . . 'Globemaster' to Omega's history. Yes, there was a Globemaster from the Golden Age, but it was never regarded as especially important by either the market or collectors. So the cachet of, say, Railmaster or Seamaster or even Constellation is absent ...
