Care to bet?

My how time flies... Was it only BW2018 when Omega introduced the Seamaster 1948 steel small and central seconds antimagnetic anniversary editions?

And yet, nary a one has yet to reach the shores of your local Omega Boutique or AD!

And soon, we are told, Swatch group will have their May event, showcasing this year's models. Why did Swatch leave BaselWorld? Well, one reason, per my local Omega Boutique manager was so that Omega would not have the negative publicity of unveiling watches in March and then struggle to even bring them to market by the Christmas shopping season. By leaving BW, Omega can unveil watches throughout the year, presumably when they have already come off the production line and can immediately be shipped to retailers for sale so as to not lose momentum from the announcement hype.

So, would anyone care to bet whether the May 2019 Omega event watches will be in your local retailer by, ahem, June 1, 2019?

And, where are those Seamaster 1948 pieces from 13 months ago? My local Omega Boutique peeps have told me that they have run out of delay tactics for their customers, and are quite frustrated with the mother ship :-(, ha ha!

Interesting times. Seriously, though, Omega has been much better to its customers than Rolex of late. Rolex and their dealers seem to have decided that "the next generation" of watch buyers are not worth cultivating...

and is not good for Omega customers. Maybe because it is a limited series and probably they have all the watches spoken for and hence no need to hurry. .. since they are already sold, customers can wait... I guess Omega better manage either their manufact...
