Actually all Omegas are common
Sep 04, 2021,14:42 PM
They are democratic, available for all at fair price. That’s what I like about them.
Give u few examples.
- Project alaska was so common 10 years ago, SGD8.8k brand new, but no one wanted it. They went for the other beauties.
- Aquaterra >15,000 gauss, also known as the Bumblebee. It was created for less than 2 years run. No one recognized this. I bought 2 for my family as gifts
- Olympics Winter Vancouver, with maple red bezel, was so common, ADs could not sell them. Now they are 1.5-2x value
- Tintin speedmaster i was offered 3 times. I was foolish for not taking it.
- James Bond 007 SM with gun barrel spins in dial, back then was so readily available. I did not take it
But now times have changed. I am watching Omega. I will likely collect Omega like DrNo/Subexplorer. They have all I need. Antimagnetique for doctors, dive water resistance for my weekend dives, and I don’t look like a poser wearing one (it is more pragmatic). They are luxury, but democratic, available to those who save their 1-2 month salary for it. For the tech available, and finishing standards, they are worth it.
No artificial scarcity, or bullying watch collectors. Watch companies now, bully customers. I will not feed hype.
My only hope now, is Omega make more creative calibres, like the deadbeat, the rattaprante, the zero reset, the flyback etc.
