6 years later, a Titanium Speedmaster in the collection..
Omega released this titanium cased Speedmaster to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Apollo 11 way back in 2014. i didn’t jump on it then but I have it at the back of my mind constantly. Here it is finally, in 2020, in my collection.
The PVD coated dial is remarkable. You have probably read about how Omega utilized a micro laser to remove the lot of the material from the base plate. And also to create the “craters” that are the sub dials. I hope these close up pictures do justice to the design of the watch 
And to top it off, this is my first titanium speedmaster. Interesting to see and feel it on the wrist !

My take on the 45th when it was introduced . . .
. . . was that it was compelling aside from being a Speedmaster on account of being so great a departure from most other Professionals. These pics were taken . . . . . . a minute apart. 👨🚀 ...

Nice shots. I agree that the brownish-grey colour of the dial is a bit tricky...
To match with straps. I think darker brown (chocolate brown) is the best, especially in aged calf leather. Somehow alligator straps don't look quite good on this watch. I recommend the chocolate brown strap from Lugs.

Good choice for the dark brown strap. I have a Horween dark brown for this too and when I get bored with my current Taupe one, I will change it. Best regards and enjoy your watch !
