Lack of service venues might be an issue, if not in terms of accessibility, then certainly in terms of affordability. Agreed that a person buying a costly watch should be able to afford regular servicing, but my sense is Omega's charge will probably be double that for a Swiss lever escapement version.
A guy who wants to own a Speedy for everyday wear over the long term will want to take that factor into consideration. I'm mulling over a third generation Speedy now. My local watchmaker wouldn't be able to handle it, so unless I knew an Omega-certified specialist, I'd be consigned to handing it over to Omega, with all the consequences that entail.
