When titanium Ploprofs made their debut . . .

Jul 09, 2022,17:36 PM

. . . I received an invitation from the local Omega boutique to view all 2016 novelties.  Took photos of several, but when the Ploprof was proffered . . .

. . . I uttered an expletive that took the boutique manager (and Kevster) by surprise.

"Holy ____!  This is _______ amazing!"

Of course, it was the only Omega I tried on that day.

The titanium Ploprof is so unexpectedly light that it makes an immediate impression.  Had it not been for being forewarned there was a Railmaster in the pipeline I might well have succumbed to this Ploprof's charms.

Congrats on the Bond SM, Hussam, and welcome back home.

[unexpected] Eid gift to oneself

 By: Lankysudanese : July 8th, 2022-22:32
While on holiday in Holland, I walked into a multi-brand to get my dad a watch (personal request to get him something simple). He’s got advanced Parkinsons, so anything mechanical was out of the question. An hour later, I walked out with a lovely blue-dia...

Man did you nail it…great choice!!!

This has got to be one of Omegas best ever….would be interested to know more about the Sinn…

Thanks! Indeed; it appears to be a big cash flow watch for omega, along with the moonwatch.

The Sinn is a real looker, but it never kept great time (compared to what other Sinn owners had experienced), in spite of being sent back twice for regulation (which entailed a hefty customs/duty charge every time it came back, despite the paperwork showi...

Excellent choice! It's a real looker.

I wanted one of these and had the chance.....but I have a SeaMaster already, and was told "enough, already"!! It love the nato strap, and also the titanium mesh too. Wear it in good health. And happy EID to you and celebrate hardy with this new 007.

Thanks for the compliments and Eid well-wishes, Ron.

I chose the nato bc the deployant clasp on titanium mesh bracelet just didn’t sit right. It stuck out, and was very thick at the clasp part. So I gladly took the cheaper version 😁 Hope you have a great weekend

Nice!

I have been interested in these as well, then get caught up in grade 2 vs 5 ti, etc. I think sometimes going off into the minutia gets in the way. I love the style and the fact that it is not branded 007 on the face. Enjoy!

Thanks TCF! I was stuck in that no-man’s-land for a while, and even got deeper with blancpain’s T23 offerings in their bathyscaphe line.

I’m still waiting for them to release a “regular” fifty fathoms case but in 40mm and grade 23 titanium. That would be nice.

What a great choice!

And sorry to hear about your dad's health, too.

You too!

That Ploprof was formidable, with the bracelet and clasp being the best that I’ve seen. Alas, it wasn’t made for the feeble-wristed

Many congrats for your new SeaMaster!

One of the best looking modern Omegas IMHO. It looks perfect on your wrist! The Ploprof might be the better tool watch but doesn’t fit your wrist so excellent like your new purchase! Enjoy this beauty as much a possible. And all the best for your father T...

Thanks, Thomas. Very kind of your to say.

And yes: it was a very sad moment, when I gave the Ploprof back to the sales lady. The US website says that they are discontinued, which is a shame, bc it’s an amazing piece of engineering: bezel, case, movement, bracelet. Hope you are well

Very eloquently-put, Art.

If anyone knew if the line has been discontinued, it would be you. Hope you are well, dear friend

The SM 007 Diver is a great catch!

VAT refund is already attractive and the discount which rarely heard of is just icing on the cake! Was in a similar situation looking at the 007 Diver and the titanium Ploprof and I went with the latter in the end since I have the SM 300. The orange and t...

Now that is a lovely 007 diver! Many congrats!!!

You must post a wrist shot of your father's Tissot and this together!

That’s a genius idea. Will do.

Thanks KCLQMULKU. Take care

You're very welcome!

You should post this on the current wrist scan thread!

That No Time To Die is a really great piece...

I had it, I did not have it for too long, however, it was really nice, and comfortable. I wanted it on the mesh, though, and the bracelet was just very uncomfortable on me, so, I let it go, but, wish you well with yours!!!

I hear you. The AD had both sizes of mesh bracelet (regular and small), and both wore super uncomfortable bc of the unevenness of the segment lengths, and the [relatively] thick deployant clasp.

On the nato strap, it’s 👌🏿 (…and 11% cheaper in terms of MSRP). Now I’m considering getting the super robust/comfortable/adjustable bracelet from the ProPlof, for this seamaster. Am I being crazy?

great watch!

Congrats, Hussam!!!👏👏👏 That’s a great addition!!!

I almost acquired one myself. But I couldn’t get a good fit with that mesh bracelet - regular or short!🫤

Would love a brown rubber strap that matches the dial!

The lug width is 1mm smaller than the standard SM 300 Divers.
