Would have better to not called it a “Speedmaster”

Too many Speedmaster variations already, and this is actually a completely different watch. Just call it a Chronoscooe or whatever.

The Speedmaster Chronoscope ! …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2021-17:36
Omega announce the Speedmaster Chronoscope. References to vintage design details, the leaf-shaped hands and three “snail” timing scales on the dial give these watches a link to 1940s watchmaking. There’s also an elegant addition of a “spiral” track patter...

My OB contacts also sent me this…and to my surprise…

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 23rd, 2021-17:57
They already started a waitlist 😳, sound familiar? There is another black/white panda version in racing strap, quite cool.

They are available…

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2021-23:03
Believe me.

I’m putting a deposit

 By: Cookies : October 18th, 2022-13:11
For one of them this week. Can you guess which I picked?=D

Panda on strap? . . .

 By: Dr No : October 18th, 2022-21:11
. . . 🤔 . . .

Posted incorrectly Dr No

 By: Cookies : October 19th, 2022-00:48
Was meant to post in the Seamaster 300 post pertaining to the 2021 releases. Can you guess which I will be picking?=D

My hunch? You're going with the . . .

 By: Dr No : October 19th, 2022-02:43
. . . forward look . . . . . . of Omega's design team. ...

Heehee good one

 By: Cookies : October 19th, 2022-03:40
Correct watch but incorrect material. Hint - to go forwards sometimes one has to go backwards.

The “wait list” is only provisional …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2021-23:05
Awaiting distribution to Boutiques and AD’s.

The 9900 movement is INSANE

 By: myles721 : September 23rd, 2021-18:04
…my only wish is that they made all the two counter speedmasters 10 bar…then I might buy one more.

The current Daytona is...

 By: mdg : September 23rd, 2021-18:37
40mm (and very wearable) and is 100 meters water resistance. This Omega does seem a tad thick, especially with a manual movement. I did a search and read quite a few early reviews, and nobody mentions the thickness of the watch, so Omega is being coy with...

12.8mm is the thickness...

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 23rd, 2021-18:45
but interestingly their website doesn't mention it. Fratello has this info.

You're right...I missed it when skimming the article...

 By: mdg : September 23rd, 2021-20:59
...but boy does it look thicker in the photos, especially if it's 43mm diameter.

The thickness has been mentioned …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2021-18:57
“The size of the watch is good and definitely thinner than the “Dark Side of the Moon” and other self-winding compur Speedmaster models” Quote from Fratello.

It seems like they could have thinned it out a bit with the manual movement...

 By: mdg : September 23rd, 2021-21:00
...either way, I think it will be a success.

Amazing one and the color…

 By: Watch_kha_wen : September 23rd, 2021-18:07
But 43 » »..really !??

Yeah...i was excited and really like the blue dial...until I read the 43 mm case.

 By: hoseachandra : September 24th, 2021-00:48
Was expecting it to be 40-41 mm

Would have better to not called it a “Speedmaster”

 By: descartes1 : September 23rd, 2021-20:04
Too many Speedmaster variations already, and this is actually a completely different watch. Just call it a Chronoscooe or whatever.

+1. Other than the case there's not much . . .

 By: Dr No : September 23rd, 2021-20:46
. . . inherently Speedie-ish about it. Art

The movement is a stunner

 By: mahesh : September 23rd, 2021-20:14
Having said that imho…does it fit speedy ? Now is speedy anymore the moon/space watch ?! I’m bit perplexed by Omegas’ approach

Remember that the Speedmaster was …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2021-22:26
Produced first launched in 1957, before the Speedmaster became associated with space.

Oui…but since moon landing there have been only one storyline of omega

 By: mahesh : September 24th, 2021-04:11
I love the movement, that is the best part of the timepiece

That’s a fair point …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:05
But the Seamaster has also played a part and I understand that sales of the Aqua Terra range are rising.

I was saddened they didn’t do a dress chronograph with this movement…

 By: mahesh : September 24th, 2021-09:32
It would be perfect with a 40mm case

The bronze gold version is by far

 By: Gwai : September 23rd, 2021-20:28
the most aesthetically successful one I think. But it's not for me and I agree adding these to the Speedmaster range is a controversial move. Cheers Marc

Am I the only one that thinks this watch is a complete and total disaster?

 By: hanke : September 23rd, 2021-21:49
There are at least three different letter and 3 different number fonts. At least two of these versions are most likely impossible to read the time due to dial and hand contrast. To me this case does not fit at all with this type of dial. Still too think a...

Maybe Omega is slowly moving to an English style of movement?

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : September 23rd, 2021-22:05
That would fit the co-axial's heritage. I like the idea expressed above that this layout, edited and reduced, could be interesting in a DeVille. I know no one buys DeVilles, but I feel like they are really the area where Omega could have the potential to ...

No, you're not the only one!

 By: Pun : September 24th, 2021-02:48
I also have similar feelings; it's nearly a disaster...

Oh yeah! Me like!

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : September 23rd, 2021-22:13

Which dial colour combo ?

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2021-22:39

Two good features

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:06

yes indeed! this release is a complete pleasant surprise

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : September 24th, 2021-14:58

the snail is drop dead gorgeous

 By: Gelato Monster : September 23rd, 2021-23:11
IMHO the colour scheme could be better. Nonetheless it's awesome and exciting evolution of complication rather than another panda or monochromatic 2 eyes dial.

Thank you so much dear Captain for this introduction…

 By: Subexplorer : September 23rd, 2021-23:22
… to this new line. It was a big surprise to me as I was not aware this was coming. I like this watch very much. Specially the awesome dial with snail scale with lots of vintage vibes. Also like the spectacular looks of the manual wind movement . I would’...

Hello Abel …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:11
I have been told by someone who’s opinion I respect, that the watch feels less than 43mm on the wrist and displays the dial design very well. I will be viewing the watches in person next week.

That’s exactly right …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:17
I have been talking to someone that has handled one and it looks less than the headline 43mm especially on the wrist.

Thank you for your clarification dear Captain!

 By: Subexplorer : September 24th, 2021-15:41
Yes, I feel it’s very important to try a watch on our own wrist and view and feel it. It will be very interesting to read your opinion after you try this beautiful watch. Regrettably I feel there will be a long delay in arriving to my part of the world. A...

I look forward to it! I reserve one from my AD already….

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : September 24th, 2021-22:05

That’s fast work ! …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-22:36
Well played !

If only this had been released in the FOIS case

 By: MZHammer : September 24th, 2021-00:34
Then they'd really have a winner in my eyes, and my wallet! As is, pass.

Agree. A 40-41 mm would be perfect

 By: hoseachandra : September 24th, 2021-00:50

Completely agree

 By: VinnieD : September 24th, 2021-06:06
They should have put this movement and dial in a much more classical case. A dial from the 30s in a sporty case that is decades younger kills it for me. Nice movement though

Yes!

 By: Esharp : September 24th, 2021-06:56

Exactly

 By: Echi : September 24th, 2021-06:59

From SJX’s write up…

 By: Esharp : September 24th, 2021-06:58
“Omega’s proprietary gold alloy with relatively low gold content – it’s 37.5% gold instead of the 75% in 18k gold – Bronze Gold is being used for the second time since its launch with the Seamaster 300.” How is that not simply classified as 9k gold??? Bes...

Nice speedmaster

 By: gunungbesarsekali : September 24th, 2021-07:04
Im gonna try this when its available in my i doubt the 43mm size would fit my tiny wrist but i still wanna try it

Best to try this watch on your wrist …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:15
I have been told that it looks good on the wrist. Which version do you like the best ?

Will definitely do that when I am able and have some free time. Been taking care of Yokozuna for the past 3 weeks NON-STOP. Haven't done anything else since so I am playing wet nurse and we have been back and forth to 4 different vets and 3 specialists ?

 By: holdemchamp1225 : September 24th, 2021-09:18
As for the different variants, I like the white dial for legibility but also the blue dial for the coolness. Seeing then on the wrist would make a bug difference on which I would choose 😉

Yokozuna is far more important …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:41
I hope that he feels better as soon as possible.

I had a very similar situation with my last cat …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:47
It’s a very difficult situation but finding the right expert is part of journey.

Good luck with this…

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 24th, 2021-09:54
And give him a big hug from us !

Thanks my friend and will do 🙏🙏

 By: holdemchamp1225 : September 24th, 2021-09:57

Did I ever tell you about the time I dated Rosie? Ten cats . . .

 By: Dr No : September 25th, 2021-19:41
. . . all black. I didn't stand a chance. Best of luck to you and Yokozuna. ;-)

Hello Justin. Sorry to read about Yokozuna…

 By: Subexplorer : September 24th, 2021-15:47
… and I hope vets will be able to restore its health soon. I can well imagine your concern all these weeks. Regarding watch I agree with yours and our Captain thoughts: best thing is trying it on our wrists. I can’t wait to view them though I feel it will...

You see welcome dear Justin!

 By: Subexplorer : September 24th, 2021-20:18
Hope to read good news soon! Cheers! Abel
