When large watches were the exception... this one stood out ! and still does :)

Got myself a new-ish watch.

A completely overhauled Omega Ploprof 600 with everything new except its caliber 1002.

A fantastic watch, with great comfort.
It makes me wanting to try the 1200M in steel on mesh.

Kudos for Omega to continue producing all these parts, 30 years-ish after its end of sale.
Did you know that they replace the old mineral glass with sapphire glass now ?

One question for the experts here. I read here and there that the Ploprof 600 case was made out of Uranus steel, known as 904L today.
Was it the case for all production models and for the service cases as of today ?

. . . the restoration. Do you know if the date wheel was replaced? Ploprof date wheels are basically impossible to find on the open market, which has led to 'reversed' examples due to incorrect date wheels for other 100x movements being fitted. The Plopro...

Replacement date wheel doesn't appear on the parts list that have been changed. But it looks new to my eyes.

That's interesting. Omega's usual practice is to return all parts . . .

. . . that were replaced during service. Perhaps that policy has changed recently. Art

Congrats on this great addition!

As a dive watch fan, I hope to be able to add one at some point. While the reissue whether in steel or titanium is great, it's hard to beat the charm of the old lady. Here's a photo I took quite time ago: ...

I heard recently from a couple of Omega boutiques in Paris that the titanium Ploprof is no longer produced. Either nobody wants it and it costs more than its revenue, or they're preparing for a replacement. I just hold once the steel and once the titanium...
