Between quirky and stupid. I now think this crown falls on the good side of the line.

Very much so.
It's very easy to grip. I look forward to hearing your impressions. It's a bigger watch than I'm used to. The large dial opening makes it feel bigger than it is. I'm getting used to it quickly though and liking it more and more every day.
