. . . at the LA Omega Boutique. Black . . . . . . and blue. For comparison's sake, side by side. Didn't try one on, but was able to get a feel for how they come across in the metal. This fresh look on the venerable Speedy Pro is most persuasive. Up 'til y...

Iโ€™ve seen the new blue dial at the Houston OB . . .

But, I really want to see the black sandwich dial! ...

That is the black sandwich dial, Mach. It's worth your while . . .

. . . to see one in the metal. Convinced, Art

The 57 is compelling against the rest in the field.

The Metas 9906 movement fills up the 40.5mm case nicely. What surprised me was that the colored dials are getting more enquiries which reflects current fashion. Among them, the burgundy dial does look attractive. Only the black dial is sandwich and my cho...

Coming from you who leans more towards vintage, thatโ€™s saying a lot..

 By: Echi : June 15th, 2022-04:39
Btw, were you able to get a feel for how they wind? If yes how was it?

I had only a few minutes with it, Echi - not enough time . . .

. . . to try one on, but enough to wind the movement. I wouldn't say winding was notable, but the presentation of the 4/5 plate movement left a positive impression. The difficulty required to produce a movement with that type of architecture should be hig...

I don't know if there are special protocols for assembling cal 9906 movements . . .

Saw these watches last week at the presentation of the Omega novelties.

They certainly look good and the bracelet is very comfortable (I believe it is the same as on your Ed White). Attention however on the lug design : similar to the Seamaster 300 these are pretty straight and do not hug the wrist!

I do like that black dial with what appears to be orange highlights?

Not crazy about the date window; on this or any Speedy. Still, very sharp.

It's beige aka fauxtina - Here's a better picture

. . . a statement. Make that a statement and a half.

Well I try not to double dip. My father had an Omega in the early 1980s, and I found an occasion to get one in 2009. I also gifted one to my wife in 2020.

There were two main reasons why this latest 57 appealed. The first was that it felt right to get something solid and workmanlike after spending a few years enjoying artier watches (for me, at least). The second was that Omega clearly went to work on it an...

Very nice, and thanks for posting these shots!
