If your watchmaker said he saw a hallmark on the back of the dial, I believe him.

Art, unfortunately the watchmaker only mentioned that the dial was hallmarked when he posted the watch back to me. I have a couple of images of the movement (561) taken prior to purchase but not of the back of the dial. The image I uploaded was taken afte... 

Probably not worth the effort. Here's an image of a solid gold Omega dial . . .

. . . produced roughly a decade earlier than yours. I'm unable to discern a hallmark (admittedly, the photo isn't entirely in focus). I'd wait until the next service to check the back of your dial. Not worth the risk of scratching the case, imho. Here's a...
