But I like the older one. I’ve gotten used to the shape of the counter balance on the seconds hand. And not crazy about the sheen on the subtitles on the new one. I also like that the hesalite version of the older one has actually seen space

For example, I would not want anyone but the manufacturer to service my JLCs, Pateks, APs, VCs, etc...so why would it be different for my Omegas, Rolexes, etc...? Yes I do agree that the cost is a factor but I think about aspect when I purchase a watch in... 

One big plus for the older generation is the lighter minute markings

I had not noticed that before, but seeing them side by side leaves no doubt. The older one looks... older I like that.
