Mr Bond ....

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 4th, 2019-11:52
Identical to 007's watch in No Time To Die this 42mm Seamaster, in strong yet lightweight Grade 2 Titanium, sports a brown tropical aluminium bezel ring and dial. Engraved on the caseback is a series of numbers, which follow the exact format for genuine m...

Rocks!

I'm not sure about this one.

 By: VMM : December 4th, 2019-12:58
I know I will like it because of its lightness, but the blend of faux patina with the classic Seamaster look, hmmm, I'm not sure about it. Let's wait to see it live for a definitive opinion. Vte

I just came back from the boutique and saw images with the bracelet or a striped grey/beige NATO (for a good bit less money). I forgot to ask how many will be made. Wonder if its going to

Good looking watch, ridiculous price

 By: Boris : December 4th, 2019-18:45
I like that they made this watch in titanium, which makes the beefy 42mm diameter / 13mm thickness much more wearable. I also really like that they did away with the date, and I can even live with the faux patina. Not a huge fan of the milanese bracelet a...

Objectively, one can criticize pricing of any commodity. And your point is well taken. Manufacturers, though . . .

 By: Dr No : December 6th, 2019-20:18
. . . price according not just to cost of production, but product perception and market tolerance as well. I wouldn't blame any manufacturer for pricing its goods at the upper end of a production/demand curve. Cordially, Art

Very well explained Art...

I concur with your analysis.

Let me criticize.

 By: TheMadDruid : December 7th, 2019-13:08
It's one thing to "price...at the upper end" of some theoretical range but charging $9000 for a $5000 watch because it is linked to a movie is beyond that nebulous standard. This is a company milking loyal customers. And it seems to be in Swatch's DNA whe...

I've been criticized . . .

. . . since the second grade, so I'm used to it, Padj. By Mom.

It's not you I'm criticizing, agent of S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

 By: TheMadDruid : December 8th, 2019-06:13
My criticism was and is directed at Swatch. Unless, of course, you have insidiously slinked your way into Omega's "Price Committee"... Have you? Guess I'll have to prepare for a thorough interrogation of you when next we meet.

Nothing you say can possibly . . .

. . . phase me. I've been prepared by the sternest interrogator of all time. ;-) ...

if the price is too steep. But I am certain this watch is a hit for Omega and that they are selling many.

Did Craig have anything to do with it’s design ?

 By: Mr.Gatsby : December 4th, 2019-21:19
Found this on the web: “Craig, Aeschlimann added, is the first Bond to ever collaborate directly with Omega on his character’s watch. “[Craig] loves watches, he knows watches, he wears watches,” Aeschlimann said.”

This watch is definitely attention grabbing

 By: Mr.Gatsby : December 5th, 2019-09:14
I’m tempted to say I like it, and the truth is that I’m really intrigued and drawn to it for several reasons. However there are also some aspects of the watch that I question. On the pros. I really like the concept of a lightweight titanium watch on Bond....

I like it and see it as...

 By: renerod : December 6th, 2019-19:03
A fantasy watch. For 007 and Craig die hard fans. And it is featured in the movie! The arrow is an obvious reference to military, which Bond is. I don’t mind false patina if it’s done well, and this is. Love the color combo of titanium, lume and matt dial...

I know why I shouldn’t but...

If Walter Mitty were a watch. Everything about it is an artifice: the story, the fauxtina, the bracelet. And I think it is perfect. I am not even bothered about that helium valve. Impressive.

I understand what you mean
