Credit Watchfid: Some will say the dial is too " rusty " for them. For me, it has a lot of soul, charm and character. And there is also the magic of this reference, a transitional Speedie made only for one year, one year and a half... My kind of Speedmast...

What I think, too. ;)

Now that's what you call patina!

Think it might be a bit too far for me, I'd be concerned about how much further & how quickly it's likely to change. Lots of presence though Cheers JML

Yeah. Just the way I am. I realize in the hobby that lots of people buy vintage and love aged watches. Me. Not at all.

You see threads where someone has their fathers old watch and try to keep it the way they got it. For me I'd always restore it to how it was when HE got it and loved it. Not how it deteriorated over time. Different strokes.

. . . from the Phillips auction six years ago, Nicolas. This one has been restored. Which do you think I would rather have? ...

It's a beauty...

 By: MikiJ : November 1st, 2022-20:13
but I'm not in favor of plots being restored and if they're original, oh well ;-)

This kind of dial has a very special name

 By: Miranda : November 1st, 2022-21:08

ROFL, I. You had to it! ;)
