my first premium watch was a Polaris! Around 1991 I believe it was.... I really longed for the black dial with stealthy digital display but could not afford it... but found a white dial standard version on a bargain sale at a local AD and went for it.... ...
I really want one
But the resale of this is whopping. With boxes and papers, it is about $2500 and all the sellers are overseas. It has a retro space age vibe hasn’t it.

i only softly recall what mine cost in 1991
i think it was around 550eur retail (equivalent) and I was offered around eur400.... but this is 31 years ago... it felt like a fortune at the time... the black dial which I wanted was around eur700-750 but not available with discount so completely out of...
Wow it is amazing the watch holds value till now
Not sure abt inflation of Eur400 for the 30 year period. But very few of these old watches can hold value so well.
i am sure there are many things that have done better value wise....
but this was never intended to be an investment... now you are making me having to dig it up and have a look at it.. believe it is tucked away far down in a box!

The black dialed piece is beautiful
I reckon your white dialed piece, with the papers and boxes will be worth something today. But I wouldn’t part with one if I had one. Once sold, one cannot get back the “moments” and memories of that era.
yes I really like the black dial....
but it was not an option at the time for me... I was around 16 and had no money.... the white dial was heavily discounted as a shop nearby was closing down. this was 1991... I would not part with mine as it is a fond memory of the years between age 16-19 ...
I remember John McEnroe
Known for his fiery temper, and theatrics, which were unseen in tennis at that time. I guess he was the pioneer of being notorious and good at the same time in that sport.
I really liked these back in the day...

I’d buy it, and faithfully restore it to it’s original condition. It’ll be like restoring an old mercedes W123 or VW Beetle.

If they re-released a superquartz version? I reckon the quartz calibre can really handle the G-forces of tennis and golf. This is the Aquaterra Gamma Titanium of that era.

And no the watch doesn't appeal to me and I don't do quartz.
