I too have been dealing with high uric acid for a few years now... my nutritionist definitely banned me from any alcohol, particularly beer, as it is the one which triggers it the most.
I still drink though, and I have found Portuguese vino verde, sake, and straight Scotch or Japanese whisky, all in moderation, to be good to keep the symptoms at bay.
Having said that, I still look forward to sharing a cup of coffee or some tea next time we meet!
