The sun is gone for today, and I just changed the 2915-1 for the 2914-1. This one is....

.....from October 1, 1957. Totally original and - judging from the view through the loupe - even the healite seems to be from "back then". Cheers, HSTE...

Oh my !!!

An original Railmaster. Hard to locate one that's more cool. Cheers, Nilo

Another stunner! [nt]

Now that you mention it

+1 What can I say, I\'m not a chronograph guy! Plus I like soft iron inner cases.

Yip, voila! Not sure though if the dust cover has the same antimagnetic....

.....effect as the case construction of the Railmaster. Cheers, HSTE ...

We have to check that. [nt]

I would wager that it doesn't.

The dial would also have to be soft iron, and a ring around the movement. As I understand it.

Much more solid construction:

..the movement was copper finished and protected by a special double case and iron dust cover. The dial was 1mm thick as opposed to the usual 0.4mm Cheers, HSTE

We're of one mind on this, Nico . . .

. . . I've always felt the Rail was king of the Masters. Art

You can bet on it! . . .

Hmmmm, tough one. I agree that the 2914 is one of those watches....

 By: HSTE : January 28th, 2017-10:17
.....that you need to hold in your hands to appreciate it. On the other hand I am quite a chrono-guy so the 2915 is a bit of a chrono grail to me. Which is probably why I have both so that I can switch depending on mood as I did this afternoon from 2915-1...

heretic :) [nt]

. . . Sept 30th, 1957. Could be fraternal twins separated by either side of midnight. ...

This is cool Dr No! Thanks for posting!
