When the Luminor Due....

Aug 26, 2019,11:28 AM

line was introduced, in Florence, I asked Dr Bonati if I could try the one he had on his wrist, in exchange for the 604 I had on mine. I liked it and told him they were going to sell like hot cakes. Everyone that had wanted a Panerai BUT was intimidated by its dimentions could, at long last, come out of the closet. Some of them I like, some of them I dislike. I wouldn't buy one with a gun pointed at my back, but I'm funny that way smile The one on the extreme right, is in the runninig, with the PAM123, for the most atrocious Panerai every produced..IMO of course. Voila'..the horror:

Some new models are announced today... ...

Maybe! But honestly, it is not a problem nowadays to make a watch waterproof to 100m. That would habe been enough...

Panerai was always about dive watches. It is the essence of Panerai. So in my opinion the crown guard is well chosen for the DUE - but please with a sensible water resistance ... 🤷🏼‍♂️😉

This new Due is also cool

A nice mix of sporty and formal. ...

How water “susceptible” would it be...

...without the iconic crown guard? SMDH

I’m not sure they are unloved

Just less respected by the vocal community on the forums that care about certain details about what supposedly “makes Panerai a Panerai”. We tend to forget your average guy just wants a beautiful watch that functions well while at work, or relaxing at hom...

I can't say that I have ever seen that one. It is so bad that it screams counterfeit.

My pride and joy.....

it makes every other Panerai I own look...spectacular lolllll

That's one way to look at it... LOL! [nt]

The Panerai which always makes me feel as if my eyes are crossed

The word AUTOMATIC and the date window, make me very sad

I do not understand why a stunning design like this, has to be spoiled by outdated marketing rules. GEO

A dive watch design with the typical crown guard and then only 30 m water resistance ?

 By: jlux : August 27th, 2019-08:38
Make it 100 m water resistance and here we go.

This line of products has nothing to do with diving....

 By: sergio : August 27th, 2019-19:11
it has been created for..Happy Hour..divers. Want a real diving device, they produce...plenty...of them in the Submersible line.

You know that, in principle....

I'm with you. I have the feeling, though, that a 47mm could threaten the..user friendly, non brutish, "mundane" Luminor Due image. But that's only my opinion, to be sure.

Caramel dial?....

uhmmmm intriguing colour...a Due a la 6154 or PAM687?

Certamente ! [nt]

30m is still nearly 100ft I believe....

 By: Sportster : August 28th, 2019-12:52
Yes I realize that there seems to be information out there that states that 30 m is only safe for a splash here or there etc, however I don’t agree that it’s the case. I read recently a post somewhere that actually tests the water pressure levels against ...
