white dial and blue indices / numbers .... a combo you never see

Inspiration was the 1993 - 1995 SLYTECH DAYLIGHT 5218-207/A. A watch of which only 4 exist. Sylvester Stallone ordered 41 of these but at the ende did not like the blue and returned 37 of them back to Panerai asking to change the dial into one with black indices and numbers instead of blue. Anyway therefore the blue slytech daylight was THE GRAIL.

In 2006 Panerai made a reedition of that watch. 500 were made and put together with another 8-days left-handed DLC black 44mm Luminor in a set, the reference 786.
As far as I know this is the only white/blue dial ever made ( except these 4 historical pieces).

Do I like it or not ? Well it's cool and pretty unique and definitely something for summer days.

Here are some pics smile

The set

some dial macros of the blue one

and a macro of the black

After following this brand since early 2000 I still consider the 44mm  Luminor as the best they offer.
And please ... keep it simple ... 3 hands is the way to go for Panerai. No need for GMT, Chrono, and definitely no tourbillon.
Are they the 2 best ? No idea but a 44mm luminor is one everybody should own ... at least that's my opinion smile

fabulous Panerai and I agree with your thoughts about the brand and the direction of keeping the designs pure and simple.

Handling that PAM from Arie made me smile

I like that set, but wish they offered the watches separately

and I think there's a typo in that the SE came out in 2016 rather than 2006.

The PAM785 set pre-dates this set by a couple of years

It contained the PAM594 and PAM602 and was released in 2014. I prefer the PAM594 because it is a non-destro model. Both sets are very cool but I would love to see a DLC 44mm Luminor available separately. It would probably be the only thing that would get ...

Your wish has come true, have a look at PAM779

For me, two-hand Base model is the best for me.

Congratulation for your purchase....
