When your AD Degreef from Brussels invites you to visit another manufacture
Jul 03, 2019,09:36 AM
Panerai this time.
Well, basically these visits are the same ? you see the department where the make parts, where they finish part and where they put them together
Ofcourse there is always a department for research and development too.
Only thing which was new to me was the 'torture room'
Really interesting to see how the test or better abuse these watches. Panerai wants to make watches that can resist ... a lot.
Ofcourse they do test water resistance but also they they hva special tools or machines to test G-force, shock absorbing , ...
Unfortunately like in most manufactures it was forbidden to take pics inside
I was allowed to take a few pictures so these will follow in this post
first ... what a way to go to geneva ... by Private Jet
(sorry for the some times terrible iPhone pictures)
Had to wear a Panerai and because it was about 33 degrees a cool white dial was an nice option
Arrived at the Manufacture
Cases from almost raw material to a nice finished product
Some patina development
their movements
components
Machines and watchmakers at work
time for lunch ...
Time to try it ourselves
to be honest it was no more than unscrewing a few parts and put them back together afterwards
and finally some new releases
and this incredible thing
